LINEN AND NATURAL-FIBRE CARE
Bruma pieces are made from linen, cotton, silk and bamboo — living fibres that reward a gentle hand and last for years when looked after.
Linen & linen blends
- Cold gentle machine wash or hand wash, separately, with a mild detergent.
- No bleach, no fabric softener.
- Reshape while damp and line dry in the shade — direct sun fades natural dyes.
- Iron warm while slightly damp if you like it crisp, or wear the relaxed creases. Linen softens and drapes better with every wash.
Silk & silk blends
- Dry clean is safest. If hand washing: cold water, mild detergent made for delicates, no soaking, no wringing.
- Roll in a towel to press out water, then line dry flat in the shade.
- Iron cool on the reverse, or steam.
- Keep perfume and deodorant off the fabric — spray first, dress after.
Bamboo (viscose)
- Cold gentle machine wash or hand wash. It's more forgiving than silk but still delicate when wet.
- Line dry in the shade; reshape while damp.
- Cool iron if needed. Bamboo is naturally breathable and stays fresh between wears.
Embroidered cotton
- Hand wash separately in cold water to protect the stitching.
- Never tumble dry. Line dry in the shade.
- Iron on the reverse, avoiding the embroidery directly.
Between wears
Air pieces rather than washing after every wear. Fold knits and heavier linens; hang dresses and the kimono on a wide hanger. Store somewhere dry — humidity is hard on natural fibres.
Small marks & natural variation
Spot treat quickly with cold water and a little mild soap. Slubs in the linen, tiny irregularities in the weave, slight colour shifts between batches — these are the fibre and the hand-work, not faults.
